![]() My friends house was 25 miles from my hometown. Non musical gear related but the same guy wanted to know if I could come to his house with my truck and trailer to take his Craftsman riding mower to the shop. He never even gave me a chance to make an offer. One day he shows up and wanted it for a trade on cheap Washburn bass. I had that amp in my garage (climate controlled) for a few months and I assumed he was going to get it fixed. Yeah my bass player is an old friend of mine since school and he is notorious for slipping good deals by me. I am suspecting that the MH1020 Pyle is much different from the Pyles that I have heard OEM in Super C'hamps. The Emi ALK does soemthing that leans toward the EV regarding articulation but is softer and earlier in distortion characteristics when pushed than an EV is. I will get back to this thread with my observations of the comparison between the MH1020 Pyle and the ALK 1028. ![]() The Emi ALK1028's I have in there right now are articualte when clean, break up early, and have great characteristics in that eat harmoics along with good note definition. This only creates mud when pushed into distortion, ime. the Pyles that came OEM in soem SC's exhibit a characteristic in clean mode that I don't like-they are inarticulate.they lack good note definition. Ime, there is a difference between articulation and breakup. Luckily, I have two SC, so I can compare. I am going to install this MH1020 in a Super Champ this weekend. ![]() Jb, I like good distorion characteristics, also. ![]()
